Activity Overview (4-Week Plan)
| Week |
Focus |
Activities |
| Week 1 |
Art History & AI |
Style Analysis: Studying movement (e.g., Impressionism, Cubism). Prompt Engineering: Learning how to describe styles to an AI. |
| Week 2 |
The Studio |
Human Creation: Creating digital art manually. AI Generation: Generating art based on the same concept. Comparison. |
| Week 3 |
Sonic Landscapes |
Music Integration: Using AI to compose music that matches the mood/tempo of the artwork. |
| Week 4 |
The Exhibition |
Curation: Designing slides/videos explaining the process. Gallery Walk: Peer review and final reflection. |
3. Research and Learning
Weeks 1-2: The Creative Process
Step 1: The Human Artist. Students choose an art movement or emotion and create a digital piece using tools like Paint or Canva.
Step 2: The AI Collaborator. Students write detailed prompts to generate a similar image using AI.
Step 3: Critical Comparison.
- Which image has more "soul"?
- Did the AI understand the emotion?
- How did the prompt affect the result?
4. Creative Application
Week 3: Music Integration
Task: Create a soundtrack for the artwork using AI tools.
- Experimentation: Adjust Tempo (fast/slow), Instruments (strings, electronic), and Mood (dramatic, peaceful).
- Selection: Choose the version that best fits the visual art and justify the choice.
Week 4: Digital Presentation Creation
Activity 7.1: Students design a slide deck or short video including:
- Artist Background: Key facts and influence.
- The Artworks: Side-by-side comparison of Human vs. AI pieces.
- Music: The AI-generated soundtrack playing in the background.
- Reflection: Personal thoughts on AI's role in art.
5. Reflection and Evaluation
Virtual Exhibition & Feedback
- Gallery Walk: Publish presentations on Padlet. Students view, listen, and comment ("likes" and constructive feedback).
- Assessment: Fill out the Group Reflection and Self-Assessment Rubrics (Att 4.3).
